Tiktok has recently agreed to do a reverification of age for everyone in Italy. After which everyone under the age of 13 will be blocked and denied access as instructed by the data protection agency.
Thus verification will start from 9th February as every tiktok user will required to go through the age verition process.
Only does who are 13 years of age and above will be allowed to continue using tikto while other accounts below the age will be deleted automatically
The order was given by GPDP after the death of a girl who was 10 years of age from Palermo who died of asphyxiation after participated in trending “blackout challenge” on the social network, as reported by the local media.
Tiktok was given until the 29th of January to respond to the order given by GPDP and today the agency has confirmed TikTok has agreed to take immediate actions.
