The founder of the multinational technology company Amazon Jeff Bezos reclaim his title as the world richest person, after surpassing Tesla’s chief executive officer Elon musk.
Musk lost about $4.5 billion on Tuesday after tesla shares fell 2.4%, which was enough to knock him to second place on Bloomberg billionaire index ranking.
The Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos net worth fell when the stock market lost a bit of it ground, but his wasn’t as extreme, only taking a hit of $372 million but still enough to recapture his title that he held for three years as the world richest person. Jeff Bezos currently worth $191 billion compared to tesla CEO Elon musk who is currently worth $190 billion.
Musk’s surge to first place happened when the $170 million shares of tesla he already owns increased in value by $106 billion during 2020, as shares shot up 743% during the course of the year.
Jeff Bezos had a vigorous 2020 too, his stake in the company increased by $75 billion in 2020, to $173.3 billion, with the huge increase in sales driven by the covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile bill gate remains the third richest person with $137 billion
