About Netflix
Netflixin 1997 changed the way movies were rented in the United States. It enabled subscribers view the company’s selection of movies online, order what they want and have the DVD delivered to their mailbox. Customers can now, watch, pop the movie back in a pre-paid envelop and have it sent back to Netflix.
Then in 1999, Netflix introduced its customers to monthly subscriptions and stopped offering single rentals by 2000. This was how the movie rental idea with no due dates or late fees and unlimited rentals per month for a flat fee actually started.
Ten years after Netflix introduced its rental services, the company has delivered it’s billionth DVD and was looking towards introducing video on demand using the internet.
Today, Netflix is one of the biggest source of internet traffic in North America.
Netflix has been expanding to various countries of the world. In the early part of 2015, Netflix entered the Australia and New Zealand video streaming markets, followed by Japan and Singapore later that year. In 2016, Netflix again scored a mile stone by switching on in almost 200 different countries around the globe, including India.
How Much Does Netflix India Cost?
Indians are allowed a one-month free offer by Netflix. If after one month they choose to continue with the service plan, they are only to pay INR500 for a single standard definition stream.
If they wish not to continue, Netflix has no contracts, so they can cancel the service at any time, but till then, the credit card that you use to sign up will instantly be charged each month.
Netflix offers a coupon code for its services, that you can use to get a discount when you sign up. All you need to is to wait until you are prompted during checkout and enter the code where it’s indicated. The discount will be applied on your first billing statement.
Netflix offers a three-tier plan that users can choose from. They are Basic, Standard, and Premium. The one you choose depends on the type of features you want with your Netflix subscription.
Now, this service can be canceled at any time, and you can also change your plan if your needs change. The difference in rates will be posted to your account. Now note that your account is going to be automatically billed by Netflix. If you want to cancel you will need to do so before your billing cycle elapses.
